Dr. Ihle was born in Idaho and grew up in Fargo, ND. He earned his BA in Biology from Concordia College and his Master’s degree in Microbiology from NDSU. He graduated from dental school at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Ihle practiced dentistry for seven years in northern Minnesota before coming to Fergus Falls to be closer to family.
What Dr. Ihle enjoys most about dentistry is the problem-solving aspect of providing comprehensive care. Every patient is unique. At Otter Tail Dental we try to provide treatment that is tailored to individuals. To best serve our patients, Dr. Ihle finds it worthwhile to study regularly at both the Spear campus in Arizona and the Pankey Institute in Florida. Dr. Ihle is fortunate to have Dr. Murphy as a mentor and a wonderful staff with so much experience and insight.
What Dr. Ihle is particularly interested in is how much we are discovering about the mouth as a component of our airways. The architecture of the oral space influences both our development from an early age and wellbeing in adulthood. We now know that normal breathing and restful sleep are beneficial for our overall health and can even impact our teeth!
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Ihle likes all types of fishing. He is especially passionate about fly fishing. He also enjoys bicycling with his wife Dawn and pheasant hunting in the fall. Dr. Ihle and his wife like to travel, both within the United States and abroad. So far, he has been to Bonaire, Australia, Europe and India.
